Funnily enough there was somebody debating loudly on her phone in the street the other morning whether Peterborough was in Scotland. She eventually accepted she was getting confused with Edinburgh.

A Danair flight from Newcastle to Aldergrove one misty morning missed the airport by over a mile and landed on a disused old RAF WW2 runway near Nutts Corner (aptly named).
It landed safely enough but the had a bugger of a job getting it off the ground again later because everything was overgrown. Aircraft was a twin engined prop job.
