For what it's worth, I haven't seen this reported anywhere else.
This is a blow, but we have played well without him starting the last game, and a few of the other wins we've picked up prior to that have been in spite of him not thanks to him. This isn't to diminish his role in the team, but he's had less impact recently. This should also mean Bobby Reid will now be attacking substitute no.1, which is a good thing. For the size of the squad it's a blow, but I don't think it's much of a blow to our chances of staying up.
