How many games did it take for Eddie Johnson to score for us?

I'd rather we gave zahore a chance in our next game

Wouldn’t give up on Niasse. His record suggests he can score.

Maybe one will go in off his shin and he’ll go on a run

    Re: Niasse????????

I like Niasse but by feck he’s frustrating I would give ken a go in the first half against Burnley

Not the time for hoping something will magically go in the net. He had about 3 chances at West Ham which he cocked up, lucky we won the game otherwise I don't think anyone would support him right now.

Zohore needs to start, as wildly inconsistent he is, why keep trying with Niasse when it's painfully obvious he just doesn't score

I like Niasse. Does everything but score.

    Re: Niasse????????

The last couple of games I’m not sure he’s putting in the effort that we’ve seen in his first few games, without that work rate he’s just crap!

    Re: Niasse????????

    That chance tonight was mystifying.

I'm not sure what he was trying to do and I'm not certain he had a clue either. He wasn't trying to round the keeper as he ran straight at him and didn't look like having a shot at any stage during the move.

Frustrating as if he clicked I think he has all the attributes but just looks like it won't happen for him here.

Would like us to have the bollocks to play both Niasse and Zohore together.

I don’t get how his finishing is that bad. Surely it must just be a patch otherwise he’d never get to this level

    Re: Niasse????????

The Sky pundit thought it was a brilliant save.

Bit of a thankless task tonight to be fair. Although what the **** he was doing with that chance I don’t know and I don’t think he knew either. Perhaps he was cold as he’s been starved of the ball all game.

His scoring record isn't amazing - only prolific at club level in Senegal. Though 8 in 22 for Everton suggests he will score at least 1 before the season ends for us (hopefully).

I like his work ethic and he never stops running for us. But **** me, get your shot away when you're one on one with a goalkeeper.

Well any idiot can see that it was Niasse’s poor touch that took the ball too close to the keeper.

    ‘Brilliant save’?! 🙈

    Re: Niasse????????

to provide some balance, the ball was stuck at his feet because the pass was not played in front of him, not easy when running at that speed

Whatever division we are in at the season end, send him back to Everton.
We must re build with football players, not athletes who just keep running

  23. #23

    Re: Niasse????????

i said it before... the moment he enters the penalty area he has a blind fold on...

up against a superb keeper agreed, but he could have lifted it over him, squared it back...

yes he runs like a horse and all that but seems to ave no composure at all, 1st touch is shocking, not nice to bash as his confidence must be shot... but yes give someone else a try, just as well go down fighting and trying...

hes as useful as a 1 legged guy in a ass kicking contest

No first touch and can't finish

Zohore and Reid are both better options

    Re: Niasse????????

I wonder what his team mates think of him? Anyone who’s played football must have had a similar player in their side, the bloke that you just go ‘Oh f*ck, not him’ when he’s in front of goal. At that standard though you all just rip the piss out of him in the pub after and it becomes a bit of a standing joke, a laugh and there’s no one to take his place anyway but in the Premier League!!!!! There’s win bonuses on the line, staying up bonuses, contract renewals etc etc, wonder what it’d be like in another line of work if a colleague was continually impacting on you like that.

Reid is not a better option playing up front on his own like Niasse does.

To be fair we were hardly scoring goals before he came in. I think he is a very frustrating player, at times he looks a class above other forwards we have had for a few years but when infront of goal he looks like he plays out a million options in his mind and runs out of time before choosing one.

Our lack of possession isn't going to help him, he clearly needs a few good chances before putting one away, and in this league we just aren't able to provide him with enough opportunities.

I think he's been a great addition to the team. So he missed a good chance yesterday, does it matter in the grand scheme of things?

He’s missed countless chances, good chances too. The chances he missed against West Ham were embarrassing.
