but you can't score with your arm, so he's not offside"

Surely his arm can never become active so can never be offside.

Shows once again that players generally don’t know the rules.

Confused by this thread. I had the game on and was more than happy that Jenas, rather than the execrable McManaman, was covering it. The incident was a key one and Jenas explained it well but seems to be getting mocked on here because he knows what the rule is. Maybe I'm missing something.

I thought the same, and it seemed like the referee and the VAR were also in agreement.

I didn’t see the game, and on first reading the original post seemed to suggest that Jenas was saying the player was offside by way of his arm. On closer inspection, the original post doesn’t say that, but it’s confusing as the post title and content are part of what same sentence. I guess the op just found Jenas’ comment funny , i.e he’s offside but he’s not offside.

He's right though, if your arm is in an "offside" position you're still onside

He's getting an arm-erring on Twitter.

Agreed, but that’s not how I read the original post, which I later acknowledged.

I like Jenas comes across as a nice bloke and talks sense most of the time

I was once ruled offside by an attractive young lineswoman after my jockstrap came loose as I was tearing down the wing. Luckily the referee overuled the decision, but the official running the line was adamant that I was a least a foot offside!

    'The left'?

    'Again'?

Strange way to describe Trump's No1 fanboy, even in jest.

    Correction: Rule of Law fanboy

It's nothing to do with Trump, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It could have happened to anybody. The worst case scenario is a coup to overthrow a sitting president.

This has got ridiculous now. Are they going to give off side because a toe was further forward than the last defender? For me, the rule should be the same as the ball going out of play - all of the ball over all of the line and all of the player in front of all of the last defender.

They didn't give it though did they?
