Thread: Will Hughes

    Will Hughes

The Watford midfielder is eligible for Wales

Would be a brilliant addition to the squad. A midfield of Hughes, Allen and Ramsey could do some serious damage, its unlikely but worth looking into

    Re: Will Hughes

    Not sure there’s a lot in this, When asked about playing for England he says;

"I want to be called up. I want to play. I'm massively patriotic," Hughes said in an interview in The Times.

After saying that, but of a cop out of he did ever play for Wales.

He also says his grandparents are “part Welsh” - that’s not enough, grandparents need to be fully Welsh, and him part Welsh, to be eligible.

    Re: Will Hughes

Grandparents are part-Welsh could mean that just one of them is, why would you bring up another country if you weren't interested in playing for them?

Its probably a warning for the English FA, "pick me or I'll play for Wales", I expect he'll be in the next England squad

    Re: Will Hughes

From a purely football point of view he’d be a great addition.

But I think it would be a bit of a piss take.

Apparently the FAW have investigated and he's got welsh great-grandparents; so he doesn't qualify. Would be a great addition though, if only to see G rangetown's boiled piss.

Someone should do an investigation of the Eire squad under Jack Charlton

He's got the same colour as me so I'm willing to adopt him.

    - He doesn't qualify.
    - He doesn't want to qualify because he feels passionate about his nationality of a different country.

Why would we want to talk about calling him up?

If only all the English rejects felt the same, instead of stopping fellow players playing for their own countries, by ‘discovering’ Welsh, Scottish, or Irish grandparents.
