Thank you, it often takes someone from the outside looking in to see something that those closer to the action either cannot see or refuse to acknowledge. My own view is that of course we're not anything else but bottom six material, but I do think that people have accepted the Warnock line about how it would be an absolute miracle if a bunch of hicks from the sticks like us managed to stay up.

We'd been knocking on the door of the Premier League for years before our first promotion and had a manager who specialises in Football League promotions for our second one - we were also many people's dark horses for a top six finish. Going up last season wasn't some sort of freak event, it happened because we proved ourselves to be the second best side in a very competitive league over a forty six match period.

That stat Father Douglas produced about our record against the current top ten was very telling, but did have the effect of showing that our record against those teams from tenth downwards is a good one, we've also got an impressive number of clean sheets for the position we're in. We were far more competitive in our last two home games against top six clubs than we were in our previous three and we played well at Arsenal, there are clear signs of an improvement in recent months, but, as I said earlier, they probably aren't going to be enough to save us.

You on the other hand seem to have an outcome bias the other way.

Compared to.other games I have seen Liverpool play with they in fact created
very few chances in the first half.

Did you really expect them not to create any?

Your last sentence probably applies to most of the games they have played this season.

Yes they were superior but I think for most of the game we held them pretty well.

Defensively we did well on Sunday and I thought Bruno had his best game, winning lots of tackles and everything in the air. His passing let him down at times. In attack there were a few occasions where we were in a two on two situation where we needed to run at them but Camarasa and Niasse either didn't want to or weren't capable of that,so in the second half I thought Reid would have been the answer but instead Zahore came on for a jog. What has Bobby done wrong?

Its funny how the people who dont go to games regularly but 'enjoy' them from the comfort of their own armchair are always the most vociferous after games and critical of team performances or individual players but the people who actually do go give the most balanced opinions. Anybody who was in the ground saw the amount of effort put in against Liverpool and the fact that we created chances at all and restricted them to so few, when their squad is worth at least 15 times ours, is testament to where we are as a club. We should be proud of this team and manager and what they have done this season, not continually criticising them, possibly partly because of the hidden agendas that some people have against all things Cardiff City.

City worked hard yesterday and several players had decent games. Manga, in particular, was excellent. But the first half seemed quite even? Do me a favour. Liverpool was far superior in every respect and could easily have been a couple of goals in front at half-time.
    I haven’t lost the plot.
Although having followed me around on the Messageboard looking to pick holes for the past 5 years then maybe you feel you are an expert on my mental position now.

I watched the extended highlights again and Etheridge made 2 saves, 1 very simple , to their one.
Firminio missed a decent chance and at the other end Hoillet’s decision making let him down and his close range shot was blocked.

Mendez Laing had Alexander-Arnold in all sorts of trouble.
Surprised you missed that- a free transfer skinning the full back of a top 2 side.
    That’s notable in itself.

That was pretty much it, so yeah ‘fairly even’, note that fairly is the qualifier, as in not EXACTLY even.

As for possession, that’s our game , sit back and let them pass around in their own half.

Second half different story as we tired and Liverpool were deserved and relatively comfortable winners in the end.
