BBC breakfast showed the goals as part of the news bulletin but when it came to the sports news they didn't show them. All they showed were moving photos (which I hate), clips of the press conference and a clip of Rio Ferdinand jumping out of his chair when the last goal was scored. SSN last night were stuck with showing Jamie O'hara jumping out of his chair.

    Such a shame.

I think though the final is on terrestrial TV? Will probably be won on pens though after a turgid 0-0

It is stupid, the viewing figures on BT are tiny compared to any match shown on terrestrial tv. This is what could end up killing interest in football in this country.

Just checked and only around 250k watched. The FA Cup semis on bbc were watched by millions.

The same has happened to test cricket.

The buzz during the Ashes series in 2005 was partly down the the coverage on Channel 4. Over 7 million watched the live coverage of the conclusion of the series compared to under 1 million who watched the next Ashes series 4 years later on Sky.

That result guarantees Wolves European football nest season.
I don't think that is correct

Sad that so many missed them, the best two games of the season by a mile, except all the Cardiff, wins and draws of course!

They can’t. Well, they can, but the small tv companies buying tv rights can’t. Not only in Britain they made this mistake. 250k seems small though.

It may be slightly more but it won’t even be a million viewers.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...wing-figu/amp/

ITV used to get around 4.5 million viewers for the English teams.

It’s like going back to the 70’s listening for results on the radio

Wonder when their deal ends and if sky is looking to outbid them, I know uefa had been disappointed with the viewing figures the last couple of years

I really dont get it. ITs them who sells the tv rights, and its been like this for years. First time in a long time i followed champions league, because i pay enough to see my other football leagues. Same goes for the championship. There is loads of interest following the clubs, and people have connections from 30/40 years ago. I understand Sky wanting to promote premier league and all. But surely they won't lose out if the championship get some more air time?
