Thread: Championship Playoffs

  1. #1

    Championship Playoffs

    Aston Villa v West Brom
    Derby County v Leeds United

Villa v Baggies has just kicked off, who do we want to win the playoffs? I want West Brom to win them

1-0 Baggies, excellent finish from Dwight Gayle

    Re: Championship Playoffs

I'd like either Villa or WBA to go up.
I don't like Derby after 'snowgate' and as for Leeds..

Graham Scott. He's refereed us twice this year, oddly both Home and away against West Ham. Or is that normal?

    Poor game this.

    Re: Championship Playoffs

West Brom have been really negative in the second half.

    Re: Championship Playoffs

    Villa deservedly 2-1 up now.

    Re: Championship Playoffs

Dwight Gayle sent off for West Brom.

Proper passion (diving and theatrics) in that game. Not really a good advert for the game.

    Re: Championship Playoffs

West Brom best squad of players. Wouldn’t want them in the league next season if I had a choice. Couldn’t give a shit otherwise

    Re: Championship Playoffs

Couldn’t care less who goes up or stays down, as they’re all shite away trips

Villa as there the strongest and biggest threat to us out of the 4 .

I'm sure I heard something like if Villa don't go up they will lose their best players as the parachute payments will have dried up. Or was it they will be fecked because of the FTP rules?
Either way I think they won't be the force they have been (or should have been) and I can't see them hanging on to Tom Daley, I mean Jack Grealish.
Derby flatter to deceive and Leeds needs no particular reasoning.

Therefore by a process of elimination it's West Brom for me.

Nothing wrong with Baggies away. Villa...bit of a pain to get to by coach. Otherwise OK. Derby you get up close to the home fans which can make for a good atmosphere. Leeds...ok they rip you off for tickets but, on the other hand we usually win/plod give coaches an escort into and out of Leeds (some may see that as a disadvantage but at least you don't get stuck in traffic like Huddersfield). So, can't agree with you on this one Tony. Of the four, Derby can go up as far as I'm concerned. Simply because of less emotional investment. Villa or Leeds winning promotion at Wembley. No thanks.

Baggies & Villa only 4 canners, weeds overpriced and Derby gets called off if it rains in Birmingham

I see your logic. The "what makes a good away" is clearly based on the cost/distance/can* ratio. As for Derby, there should have been a red (stay in bed) weather warning for the south part of Birmingham and the Black Country. Far worse than in Derby. Just a bit of a frost there. Still, they got away with it and did us in the postponed match.

All of the spies are hidden away
Try not to worry you'll beat us someday
    We beat you at home
    We beat you away
    Stop crying frank lampard.

Sang by the Leeds fans yesterday at Derby. Bloody great chant.
