My wife does although she drives down the valley which may not be the direction you would be coming.
Suffice to say she aims to get to work at 7-7.15 because the traffic is so bad later on.

Its on my patch from Pill, can be really bad at peak times, but before 8 is normally ok

Its bumper to bumper if you're coming down the A467 at rush hour. I've often queued up from Rogerstone all the way to Tredegar park roundabout that isn't even a roundabout now.

Best way to go is turn right at that roundabout head past Bassaleg school, left at Tredegar Arms, Left at Griffin then left on A48 and get to Tredegar Park that way. It's a longer way around, but it saves loads of time if Forge Lane is chocka.

It's worth having a look at the lighthouse Road Newport.
Coming from Cardiff you get on it at lamby way.
It brings you out at the business

Never much traffic on it.
I used to travel from cwmbran to the units opposite the gypsy camp.

Nice drive as well. Used to work at the Patent Office and I can only endorse the you don't want to be on the roads by Tredegar Park anytime around the rush hour comments.
