    The Conservatives nuclear problem.

The public want Boris the grassroots want Boris but the MPs do not.

So amusingly they will end up with LEADER THAT NO ONE WANTS.

    HILARIOUS

    Re: The Conservatives nuclear problem.

Google search says: The current system of electing the Leader of the Conservative Party consists of two stages: Conservative Members of Parliament select a choice of two candidates to present to the membership of the whole Party; Party members vote, on a "one member one vote" basis, for their preferred candidate from a shortlist of two.

Johnson then would need to be 1st or 2nd favourite amongst Conservative MPs to easily defeat any opponent in a run-off, according to pundits.

May sidestepped a vote by the Conservative Associations because she knew she would lose. All of those who took part in the sham leadership contest need to be scrutinised, as some of them were clearly in on it. I seem to recall that Gove took out Johnson, but was it legitimate maneuver or just playacting?

Boris will not be allowed to make the last two. MPs want a ministerial post. He will have to do some serious bribery to get through. You can only promise to so many.
    He’s doomed.
