A rumour for you ... decent non Cardiff source

Mile Jedinak on a free when he's released by Villa at the end of June.

Will be 35 at the start of next season but we know NW can make the most of free transfers for a purpose short term contract.

I think he was Warnock's captain at Palace during his 2nd stint and a trusted leader.

Doesn’t fill me with much excitement. Surely too old.

    Would rather Ledley

Surely we can aim a little higher than that.

    Swansea & Leicester (released)

Martin Olsson, Leroy Fer, Luciano Narsingh, Wilfried Bony, Wayne Routledge

    Danny Simpson, Shinji Okazaki

A few would enhance our squad, albeit on highish wages.

I think Jedinak could be a good signing, a replacement for Gunnarsson, knows how Warnock plays - I get his age, but if he's fit, why not?

I see a lot of people repeating these kind of sentiments about us needing a long term plan, but I just don't see it. Who's to say that a long term plan would actually work, that new managers would buy into it etc. If we have a good plan for each season then the long term will look after itself.

if warnock felt someone like jedinak could enhance a promotion bid I'd be happy yo see him here

The main problem with short term thinking, particularly when you review Warnock’s record, is players drop in value, start to become out of first team squad, then we have difficulty in moving them on, for any kind of fee.
From a commercial standpoint, signing 35 year olds costs the club money.

Well, what you say has a ring of sense about it. However, the transition from ex-manager to the new manager would be a whole lot smoother if they followed a common footballing philosophy.
