I’m thinking they’ll probably come back with another offer of 10mio. Hope we hang on to him

And Fulham supposedly bid £10m. I doubt it.

Too ambitious asking for that much.
£15m plus Jack Grealish in exchange - sorted.

If we could get £10m and replace him with Marshall it would be OK to me.. Marshall is out f contract at Hull I believe.

Marshall is/was a better keeper in my opinion and we desperately need a right back/2 central midfielders/ CF

Don't get me wrong I'm more than happy for Neil to stay but if it means we address the outfield positions with the cash and Marshall comes back I'd do it

Let’s not forget that we have Smithies, he’s supposed to be decent.

He was shocking in the very little game time he got (However David Seaman rated him as one of the best keepers he'd seen and I guess he knows more than me - however he was at fault at Gillingham in the FA cup fr their goal when he dived out of the bloody way of the shot and from what I can barely remember of the league cup game he didn't cover himself in glory in that one either)

So you're going to write off his entire career because of two shockers in cup games? He's an established championship keeper, was very good at QPR

I agree 10m would be a good price and a free transfer Marshall or Adam Davies plus Smithies would be good replacements with young Radcliffe as our No 3. Remember people on here said we should turn down 10m for Marshall and Zohore! Marshall went for 2m and Zohore is now worth 1m?

Re: 8m bid for Etheridge turned down

I've asked my friend who works for Villa and he said that this is the worst time of year to get info. as basically everyone has dispersed. His opinion is that it's probably true due to the influence of Neil Cutler at Villa and that he was previously Etheridge's coach as Walsall and that Etheridge supported Cutler's academy.

Villa already have Steer, Nyland & Kalinic, as well as having just released Bunn.

For what it's worth, the rumour here from Villa fans is that they're looking at Nick Pope from Burnley or Jack Butland
