    75th D-Day Annversary

    Respect to all.

I would guess that some on here have a family connection back to this time.

My Wife's father was a veteran of the D-Day landings, Leicester Yeomanry, he made it home many of his comrades never, my wife never really spoke with her father regarding the war and it is a regret for her, I used to talk to him frequently about it although he had to be pressed a little, the things he saw were not the type of things he felt comfortable talking about, a young man (back then) jumping off the back of a boat with little intelligence of what lay ahead, the fear unimaginable, His medals are proudly displayed in our home.

My Grandad was in the Somme in WW1 , flew Lancasters WW2.

He was fiercely British, and loyal to this great country of ours.

As I am in his memory .🇬🇧
