    What if a Portuguese player would have been brought down, when through on goal. Red card offence, would the red card be rescinded????

    Exactly, player goes through in offside position, lino plays on waiting for var, defender commits a foul he doesn`t have to make and gets sent off. or is there a rule in place for that scenario.

    He wouldn't be sent off.

    But do linos play on waiting for VAR?

    So, a player can make a thigh high tackle, jabbing his studs into another players leg, but he’s not sent off because they’re going back 60 seconds for a supposed pelanty offence !!

    But that's a different situation. The other example was denying a goal scoring opportunity. This is dangerous or violent play so yeah I would guess the red card would be given, just as it would if someone was punched while waiting for a corner to be taken and the ball is out of play.
