Why are our newer fans obsessed with Abertawe Town !!!!!!

They are and never will be our main rivals, always a lower league team to us

They have not been kind, Tough old run in from April on.

    Re: Fixture release reaction

On paper a fairly comfortable first month (ok you don't play football on paper) and a tough last month.
Would like to see a decent start with 14 points by end of August.
Not over enthusiastic about the Christmas and Easter period being plenty of away games.

    Re: Fixture release reaction

Seems crazy that we play 6 league games in August.
Took us until 22 September to play our 6th league game last season.

    We'll be 10 points clear

Seriously though, that's the beauty of the Championship. You can't tell who's going to be good!

Pleased we're home on Boxing Day. Odd that our first two midweek home matches are on a Wednesday, but then we switch back to the normal Tuesdays after that.

Don't think that there's much point talking about "easy" starts and "difficult" last months in this division in particular - squads will look a lot different come transfer window closing day than they do now.

    Re: Fixture release reaction

The TV fixtures for the opening weekend have already been announced and Cardiff are not involved. Later in the season the home games with Reading and Leeds clash with Six Nations games at the Millennium Stadium so are likely to be moved.

You may have missed this but the Championship midweek games are split now over two nights. Six games Tuesday, six games Wednesday and all are televised by Sky, either on main Sky channel or via the red button.

I'm just pleased to see we are back playing midweek games. I don't think I've ever seen so few games as I did last season.

I love it though, basically non stop football

Millwall away and Brentford away both midweek.
So fixed the competition and the league should be ashamed of themselves.
Nothing random about these selections whatsoever.

For some reason, to "boost Saturday attendances", midweek games are always miles away. I don't think it's part of some great conspiracy though.

No one has ever said the fixtures are random have they? Certain teams have to be away on the same days, boxing day and NYD fixtures are supposed to be easier for travellers etc.

Weird. After last season's fixture list put the fear of god in me, I look at that and think every game is winable.

This is the best list I have seen.
Simply and concise. Top service take a bow.

    I must’ve missed that bit

    Selective memory bank

They could win the European Cup and they’d still be in our shadow !!!

Brentford and Cardiff are two clubs either end of the same street.

A nice festive game at home to Millwall on Boxing Day. I'm sure the visitors will be friendly and full of good cheer.

Its going to be cold on Sept 14th

Nice start - didn't we win our first 5 games under Warnock last time ?
