    I hope not.

He is 35 now - 36 in September. He's 16 months older than Sol!

He did OK last season for Brighton - but is clearly coming to the end. Not the way to go.

FFS! Enough we the quick fixes. We need to build.

Have we been linked ? His agent is Unique Sports Management for whom a certain member of the Warnock family works !

Vaulks is 25, Nelson 26, Day 28. In fairness, with Reid, Murphy, Bacuna, Cunningham last season, Paterson, Ward, NML, Etheridge etc, we've hardly brought in any quick fixes.

Yes, Bamba etc but he's been magnificent.

    Re: Glenn Murray

Just for discussion, Murray scored 12 in 35 in 17/18, and 13 in 38 in 18/19.

I'm not saying he should be first choice but he does score.

Helguson was 35 when he joined us.
I’d rather a goal scorer than a might be goal scorer.

Murray can still move. Lambert was washed up for 2/3 seasons by the time he got to us.

Was Helguson the last goal scorer we had? Genuinely?!

I'd say Fraizer Campbell was, but it's definitely up for debate.

    Probably

Helguson was well past his best when he finally came to Cardiff. He scored 8 goals in 38 games. Not bad, but hardly set the world on fire.

He was a really good player still.

12 Premier League goals last season, basically kept Brighton up

    Re: Glenn Murray

Still seems able to find the net, not sure how mobile he is. Although with Murphy, Mendez-Laing and Reid(?) around him, he could find the space to grab quite a few. There are worse signings we could make.

    Re: Glenn Murray

Absolutely. Our luck with strikers has been shocking since the front 3 of the play off final left. We have lots of players with years left in their career, a seasoned veteran up top would be a good addition.

    Re: Glenn Murray

It's a yes from me. He knows where the net is. He knows his limitations and as CCFC99 has said, we would have the speed & movement around. What we don't have is a natural goalscorer, which is what Murray is.

Just for a laugh, Saido Berahino agent is touting him to anyone who'll listen! He's an absolute waste of a talent but might be a perfect candidate for NW to modify with a 4x2 back into a decent player. Stoke have declared that they've sacked him but maybe they haven't!

One goal shy than our 3 top scorers combined. On a short term contract would be great for us.

Absolutely. I'd much rather a lad 15 years younger.

    Re: Glenn Murray

Glen Murray coped with the Premiership last year and year before :

    2017– 19 Brighton & Hove Albion >> 92 games (33 goals )

At worse a great bench man and real goal poacher .

    Re: Glenn Murray

Its a yes from me. Excellent at hold up play would fit our system and for one year is a no brainer if we could convince him to come here - a class up on what Madine is supposed to do. (Unfortunately the Ricky Lambert comparison will be inevitable but as of last season Murray wasn't washed up and permanently injured)

Strikers cost stupid money - look what Grabban and Assombalonga cost and they won't bring what Murray can. Look what the jacks want for McBurnie and he is bang average - £20m!! and Maupay of Brentford - stupid money

If this happens - I get it.
