i think the football season break needs to be extended . summer sports are suffering because of the end of one season to the next
even the amateur sides only have about a 4 week break now .
Got Dragged out of retirement to play cricket today in Abercynon. There was a proper pre season football friendly going on on the adjoining football pitch. There just doesn't seem to be a close season anymore. It's the 13th July. That's not the bloody football season!
agree hamish very little close season these days . back in the 70's and 80's many footballers / rugby players used to play cricket and here in Cardiff baseball in the summer months . From late May to August baseball diamonds were packed with players and spectators watching the beautiful game . football was forgotten when local rivalry on the baseball diamond really mattered . grange albion v llanrumney was like a swansea /Bristol v cardiiff footie game -lol
