Young people ordering food in restaurants

Absolutely hate the can I get statement, I think it must have come across the pond. I am waiting for someone to reply to a statement like can I get a pint of lager and a glass to wine with no I'll get it for you because you don't work here.

Language evolves and changes, no point getting in a state about it.

This board has become like the daily mail comments section of moaning old men.

But it's all the fillers that make language more interesting and nuanced. When you learn other languages you can measure your progress by adding such things rather than just getting by on the bare bones.

People were saying this before there was English. In terms of the meaning, not the exact words.

What about the aghast, absolutely shocked, this has never happened before in the history of mankind....... the long drawn out... ‘Oh (pause) My (pause) God ‘. Oh, and it’s the God given right of anyone over, say, 50 to complain about new sayings and the like
