Something? Nothing? Banter?

It would be very unusual for a player to spend 2 years so out of favour and to simply come back and be a first team regular.
He was signed as a big player, but ultimately he has lost his managers trust, and over the 2 years the manager has moved on and has brought players in to replace him, or to do a job for him.
Football players always seem to get better when they are out of the side.
I think there was an expectation that he would play more of a part than he seemingly will, as he seems to have sorted his demons out(speaking highly of the support from Warnock) and got himself fitter than ever. The fitness thing seems to be what’s held him back, as there is no doubt he’s got the ability to play at championship, even premier league level. I suppose time will tell if he’s here after the transfer window closes whether he can force his way into Warnock’s plans. I also think missing the US trip wouldn’t have helped his cause.
He looked good in the Nice friendly. Only one game I appreciate and he didn't play a full match but he looked on top of it.
