    £80 million Harry Maguire

That's madness, surely there's someone better they could have got for that money?

    That is really daft

On a completely unrelated note Man utd are one of the few remaining clubs in the premier League without a director of football role.

Don't worry about them, they've got Ole at the wheel.

It's fantastic. My glory supporting mate can't even get excited about their 80m signings these days.

After Leicester got mugged for Kante they've made sure they get over the odds for everyone else.

The stupidest thing for me is Man United got quoted £80 million a month ago, if they're going to pay it eventually why not just pay it and have him for pre season?

He's a decent player but never worth that.

I'm not being funny, centre back has to be the one position where good players actually grow on trees. There are so many centre backs that could do what he does for way less than what they're paying for him. What absolute gutless desperation by Manchester United... and they're still going to finish a mile off relevancy! Leicester have had their pants down here, hope they reinvest this wisely, and don't pay the transfer fee for Lewis Dunk they were touted as being interesting in.

And we ONLY got 3 million for Bruno!

I thought he was pretty average when we played them last season.

To be fair I thought at the time van dijk was expensive, he now looks a steal.

Leicester improved after he went off that day - I just don't get a transfer market that values Maguire worth £65 million more than Dan James .

****ing ridiculous. Someone should lose their job over this.

Why is it unrelated? I'd have thought the lack of a DoF was a factor in them getting fleaced.

Ridiculous figure for an average defender.

Means Lewis Dunk now cost 40 million and some.Bristol.city defender 20 million.

I would certainly think Dunk is not much better than any of the 3 we had at centre back last season.

    Agreed.

(We could have let Ole have Matt Connolly for half of what he's paying for Maguire.)

Could have got de ligt for about that. I suppose their problem is they aren't quite th draw they once were.

Ole has decided on a policy of recruiting British players - Wan-Bissaka, James, Maguire. This means Man Utd end up paying a massive premium compared to buying similar players from abroad. Still I’m sure Ole knows what he’s doing.

He's trying too hard to recreate the old man United. Unfortunately for them all they have really done is spend £150m on wan bissaka, Dan james and Harry maguire.
