Interesting story - especially the bit about internment in the UK.

But this was in the UK News segment of the Guardian online - and has clearly been used as a vehicle to take another swipe at Corbyn and Labour with the anti-semitism allegations. The story is topped and tailed that way. Hodge has a regular platform on the Guardian and knows how to use it - as does Catherine Vinner the editor.

Yes I did know about UK internment, and as you say it's an intresting fact which doesnt get much exposure or discussion.

All I know the Jews have had a shit deal for so long, and continue to do so n this modern age from many parts of society and around the world

As a minority group they have more than their fair share of persecution and hatred and continue to do so throughout the world .

In a way you can understand how they have become a self enclosed and protected tough society.

Lets be fair this hatred is never going away , let's hope they dont bring that hatred to our streets as other disfranchised societies have .

The dislike of them in my view is engrained like instututinal racism, is for other ethnic groups .

I sometimes wonder if they look back at the history of the world and wonder why us ? why so many societies ?? and wht do so many people dislike us ?? with so much hatred and vile actions and words .??

They have probaly faced more hatred than any other race or society , outside of the effects and actions impised via the slave trade ??

We have a president of the USA who has been quite happy to give the impression on multiple occasions that he thinks black people aren't American. Most of Africa has been ransacked for everything the rest of the world can take from it and left to rot since. If you seriously think that in 2019 that people of Jewish ancestry and religion are the most persecuted in the world or uk then I think you should look again.

When people criticised American gun culture in the other thread you gave a lot of praise to a post which implied that we shouldn't criticise America unless we criticise other (completely incomparable) countries for their high levels too. I would say in this particular debate you are following this same pattern of behaviour that organ was criticising there.

You have almost a laser focus on the issue of antisemitism but don't mention any of the problems other cultures, religions and nationalities face across the world or even in the UK. We have a major class issue in the UK in terms of opportunity, pockets of massive deprivation which lead to a rollover over poverty from generation to generation, disabled people killing themselves because of the lack of respect they are shown by their own government.

Yet the issue you have picked out to start thread after thread about is something that is significantly less poignant in my opinion. It makes me wonder why? You go on and on about political point scoring when the reality is you are the worst for it on here.

I’ve every sympathy for those who’ve suffered anti semitism.

Your faux outrage is hilarious considering on every other thread when Trump, Johsin, Farage etc is criticised and reguakrvas clockwork you say ‘everyone’s at it’
And ‘who are we to criticise’

Yet over this you get on your very high horse.

    Bizarre....

It's best not to politicese this .

I fully understand and recognise injustices and racial hatred in todays society.

The point I was making was the Jews have been persecuted, hated ,killed chased out of lands since biblical times , therefore they are potentially the most disliked people or race ever.

Todays racism is appaling in a modern society , how one can put it up against centuries of persecution , hatred , and death of the Jewish people is puzzling .

How preposterous that anyone could compare the genocide and persecution of Jews in the twentieth century to Donald Trump or Nigel Farage !!!
How preposterous that anyone could fail to regard anti semitism as dangerous in light of those events !

This is an example of how a generation or more has lost all touch with the real world together with its sense of proportion and common sense.

The problem I have with your postings lately LOM is that as Eric Cartman says you get all uppity when some including myself have righty criticised American gun culture (have you seen Donnie photo opportunity this week??? ) and ask who are we to criticise and then you as again Eric Cartman says focus on the anti semitism issues

Like wise exonerating the tories for this Eu farce and blaming Labour and the EU which is utter utter bollocks.

Could Labour do better re anti semitism issues ? Yes

is Chris Williamson an arsehole? Absolutely

Personally I think you’re using the Anti Semitic issue as as a stick to hit Labour with and you’re suggesting that I’m the one full of anger.

I’m just highlighting your double standards.

As for Ronnie the Donnie lover his pomposity and his smug I’m better than attitude has irked me and I stand by my comments

Yes and your mouthy little yobbo attitude has irked me. Well, it hasn't particularly because there's a depressingly huge supply of Jeremy Kyle types spitting out bile and ignorance on the Internet, so you can't get angry with all of them.

Still, a low intelligence drunken yob justifying anti semitism and firing off abuse at anyone who objects is certainly a blast from the past which might concern some.

And the problem I have with you , and folk like you , is the use of this type of personal attack ( **** off you wannabee sanctimonious bellend ) from behind your brave keyboard , is it the new socialistic revolution mantra ,when things dont appear to go your way ,I'm sure Eric's fingers are pulsing with anger as we speak ?

I tried to be nice at first but as has been pointed out by a lot of people on here most of what you write is poorly thought out incomprehensible rubbish. I haven't been directly rude to you, I just won't stroke your hair and tell you every opinion is equal when you are chatting nonsense.

You rarely reply with reference to anything I have actually written, usually to what you thought I was going to write which is frustrating, you sit in what you believe is the centre ground because you think it gives you the power to condemn people who have taken the time to develop a viewpoint. You instantly put posters in left/right boxes which isnt constructive.

This 'behind your keyboard' thing is tosh too, you are in exactly the same position to me.

Your response to certain categories is telling ,and amusing, you can post a comment without having specific references, is called freedom of thought.

As a final input into this post , I am very glad Margret Hodge has found solace and closure ,she whose family have suffered great sadness , which was the reason for the original post .
