It’s mad how many people are so obsessed with nostalgia. They whitewash the past as some utopia in their head and then are easily sold a load of shit.
I think most of us look back at our younger days and claim they were the best times. There are reasons for this in that your teenage years (in particular) are the most intertwined in our memories as our brains undergo an incredible rate of development as we are most socially active. Think of how most people still listen to the music they were brought up with and discovered when they were young.
The more rational among us know that things are no better or worse in one era or another, they're just different.
