Thread: Brentford. After selling so many players

Brentford. After selling so many players

They were never shy about being a selling club, bringing in cheap players and selling for a profit.

How much have they brought in?

They really don’t look to have the best squad, do they just bank the money?

I think as a club they simply live within their means. They were 23rd of 24 in terms of Championship average attendances last season, but they finished 11th in the table. Brentford are a historically small club with little by way of potential but who who are in their sixth-successive season in the second tier. It's quite an achievement.

They also have a new stadium to pay for

I appreciate their achievement and know they’re a small club.

My question was about the amount of revenue they’ve brought in from player sales and the fact it doesn’t seem to have helped their squad quality

And they beat Barnsley 3-1 today with an Ollie Watkins hat trick.

He’ll make them a few bob next

Are they still a moneyball team?

I *think* they significantly reduced their analytics headcount a few years ago at Brentford and FKM.
The owner felt that the systems that had already put in place were working well enough and for a club of their size they couldn't justify the extra expense looking at other things.

You'd think a club like Brentford would have the pick of loanees from London clubs. Is there anything to stop clubs like Brentford, Fulham and QPR having a "special relationship" with Chelsea, Arsenal or Spurs?
