I was interested in your last paragraph as a few of my fellow members see the EU as a capitalist plot. I think my namesake, in his heart, thinks so too.
I don't as I see the EU as protection against the neocons who are attempting to turn the UK into an offshore tax haven where the rich get richer and the poor poorer.
