He was in an offside POSITION, true, but he stopped jumping and crouched down as the kick was taken, so couldn't be said to be going for the ball, so not offside. (under the current rules, anyway)

I think it’s the line of sight rule that’s in dispute.

thing is, he was twelve yards or more away, how much line of sight does he want, and if you say to the ball then surely morrison was in the way as well as the rest of the defensive wall.

The line of sight rule only applies to the player standing in the offiside position.

If Flint want trying to interfere why do you think he was doing it?

Part of the current offside law reads as follows:

A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play if interfering with an opponent by preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision.

You don't reckon 6' 6" Aden Flint doing star jumps in front of the keeper could be considered to obstruct an opponent's line of vision?

At the moment the ball was played Flint had his hands down by his sides.

But he was very close to the keepers line of sight of the ball if not directly blocking it - so very lucky decision to let it stand.
