I don't mind pub singers copying songs to give themselves a bit of beer money but I can't abide singers/groups who make a living out of copying a band and even creating a play on their name like Oasish!

I couldn't agree more. I detest them, "The Beetles", "The Smiffs".

I was always incredibly pecksniffian about tribute bands (and the sheer number of them is ridiculous) but I have blotted my copy book by seeing several Santana tribute bands and one of the Eagles.

And don't tell anyone but I enjoyed them.

Was in the Arndale centre in Manchester on Saturday and gaggle of spotty spunk-trumpets in matching nike/north face gear came riding through. Sadly they didn't come close enough for me to knock one of them off as I am sure you would see it on youtube as they were all filming it.

I was driving southbound on the M5 yesterday between Birmingham and the M50. Parts are 4 lanes and all the middle lane drivers now seem to occupy the 3rd lane.
Clueless.

Four lanes and few drivers use lane one. Or two. Three has old dears in it. Mainly going in the right direction. Lane four is good so long as you know where the junctions are if you want to get off.

I know we all moan about middle lane hoggers (fair enough) but I can never understand motorists who hog the outside lane. In the event of trouble there are very few places to go! At least on the inside lane there is the option of the hard shoulder, assuming it is not a "smart" motorway of course. "Smart motorway" - yet another misnomer if ever there was one!
