    "Bubble and squeak"

I remember a schools game when we were being over-run by what appeared to be a far better footballing side. At half-time, we were disconsolate and fed up. Our games master simply said, 'They are bubble and squeak'. I didn't really understand what he meant at the time, but we persevered and eventually ran out winners. Looking back, I can only think he meant the opposition flattered to deceive.

I would say Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham are 'bubble and squeak' teams this season. I find it hard to believe we beat them both by such margins - but maybe they too give the impression of being good footballing sides, but are without substance.

We didn’t beat Sheffield. I assume you mean QPR?

The real mystery is that we played really well when reduced to 10 men!!
Great entertainment and backing from the fans, it's what football is all about

I hope we only see Ward coming back as an impact sub
