    Cardiff and Birmimgham charged by the FA

    Cardiff and Birmingham City have been charged by the Football Association for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

    The charge relates to a brawl that followed Harlee Dean's red card in injury time of Cardiff's 4-2 win over Birmingham in the Championship.

    Saturday's bad-tempered contest saw both sides have a player sent off.

    Both clubs have until Friday to provide their responses.

    Meanwhile, an appeal by Blues to have Dean's red card rescinded has been rejected by the FA and the 28-year-old will serve a three-game ban.

    Presumably, we, rightly, haven't bothered appealing Ward's red card?

    Paul definitely a red, so one match ban or appeal and get three!

    In general, I wouldn't have described it as bad-tempered contest despite the two red cards.

    I thought it was 3 matches for violent conduct (Dean) or a dangerous tackle (Ward)?

    This was from last year and I don't think it has changed (has it?):

    A second yellow in a match = 1 match suspension.
    Denying a goal or an obvious goal scoring opportunity = 1 match suspension.
    Using offensive or insulting or abusive language/gestures = 2 match suspension.
    Violent conduct or serious foul play = 3 match suspension.
    Spitting = 6 match suspension.

    Thought this was going to be about Birmingham’s fans behaviour. Woman whose house I was working on yesterday takes her young lad down and she reckoned a bunch of them were turfed out for chucking fireworks. No mention of it anywhere else, mind you on Saturday with the weather I presume that they were damp squids

    I thought it was three as well - I see Harley Dean's got a three match ban after his appeal was turned down.
