    Dinosaurs?

    In 500 years time, i wonder if people will see crocodiles, alligators, turtles, lizards and even whales as dinosaurs?

    Birds are more closely related to dinosaurs than the creatures you mentioned

    Weren't crocodiles (or similar) around the same time as the dinosaurs?

    They were, known as sarcasucus, much larger than a normal croc, a bit like megaladon was much bigger than a great white is now. Chickens, believe it or not are the closest living descendants from the Dino era. My Dino obsessed 6&8 year old boys tell me this most days

    I genuinely did too! I anticipated being a 'having a pop' thread at Warnock, Blackwell and Jepson...

    As a side note, those three names sounds like an 19th century iron foundry.

    Dinos wre one of two types - the bird-hipped, like T Rex et al, walked on two legs, related to modern birds.
    The other type were the crocodillians, walked on four legs, related to, umm...

    Though not as good as 'Norfolk & Chance' or 'Wright Hassell' or 'Ditcher, Quick & Hyde'!

    Not quite.

    There were 2 types, one closely related to birds and another, but the other were the sauropods and not that closely related to the crocodilians.
