    Copa Libertadores

Live on BBC 2 at the moment.

    Currently Flamengo 0 - 1 River Plate (27 mins)

Final taking place at the Estadio Monumental in Lima, Peru

    What a stadium.

What a Saturday bonus to catch this. What a setting for a stadium.

Looking on wiki there are 20,000 seats in the upper levels which are all executive boxes. The other seating / standing areas are all below ground level. Total capacity 80,000

    Was a cracking game.
Funny how the game loops around... the manager for Flamengo had a job in Portuguese football back 14 years back. He lost the title and Europa League in the 92nd minute only to win this game in the 92nd minute.

The semi final for Flamengo finished 4-4.

The goalscorer Gabigol is well known to the refs picking up a booking in every game in the competition, being sent off twice. Once for dissent (booking) then slow clapping the referee while booking him (2nd yellow). And in the final, once for “taunting the opposition fans”
