The world cup has been won by the hosts 6 times. The Euros won 3 times. If you count the times the hosts have reached the semis then it is scary! 13/15 hosts have made it to the semis in the Euros. But playing at home will give even poor sides a boost, South Korea beat so many in 2002 to reach the semi finals!
