Thread: FA Cup 3rd round draw coming up from 7pm on Monday

  1. #1

Fa cup 3rd Round draw tomorrow- could it be different this year?

We have treated the fa cup with contempt since we got to the final in 2008. Utter contempt and it's got worse year by year. We've spent more effort trying to get out of the cup than stay in it- that's how it has felt anyway.

Maybe this time we will have half a go? Harris got Millwall to fa cup quarter finals beating a lot of big teams on the way, we couldn't be more mid table, we could do with a lift.

Let's go for it whoever we draw.

Why not bugger all else to do, I wonder what the crowds will be if we draw a mundane side .

FA Cup 3rd round draw coming up from 7pm on Monday

The full set of ball numbers are now known with one guaranteed non-league team in the third round.

Cardiff are ball number 11 and hopefully Neil Harris will take the competition seriously. We've had some stinking cup games of late but with Harris taking Milwall to two 1/4 finals as Millwall manager we might make more of an effort this time.

    C:WindowsTempphp45C2.tmp

Harris also played for Millwall in the 2004 final that they lost 3 - 0 to Manchester United.

    Speaking last year he said

“I’ve always been honest enough to say I love the competition. I grew up watching it. I saw Wimbledon beat Liverpool at Wembley, went with my father to watch the game. He was a Wimbledon fan, so I really enjoyed that.

“I loved it as a player and a manager. It brings out the best in us. This competition is built on clubs like Millwall and Wimbledon and Newport, and of causing the upsets – that’s what it’s all about."

Fylde are the only confirmed non-league side in round three but Hartlepool, Boston, Eastleigh and Solihull are still in the competition.

Ever the optimist, I think we’ll be one or two points off fourth position this time next week.

A cup run would be nice though. Pompey at home, or AFC Fylde away.

We badly need a Cup run after our pathetic attempts in the last few years going out to lower league sides!

At least FGR fans will get a decent burger if they get to the CCS.

They could bring some of their veggie burgers with them to show The Grazing Shed how to make them.

Those burgers in the New Lawn are gorgeous.

You'd never tell they weren't meat if the bloke in the van on Sloper Road started selling 'em.

C'mon FGR you can beat Carlisle. Could be my first ever two scarves game (ignoring the recent friendlies). Always great to see a team you've played against make it big time.

Good draw if we don’t make too many changes, just give a couple of youngsters a chance but with experience on the bench in case it’s going wrong! Much better draw than our two neighbours Both tough away draws!

    IF FGR beat Carlisle

IF FGR get a draw at the CCS

I think Keiffer Moore came off the subs bench that day! You might have a quiet life soon if the Teletubbies Arena gets the go ahead.

Didn't realise that Keiffer was ex FGR.

No doubt Stroud District Council will be persuaded not to agree by:

    1. NIMBYs giving backhanders

    2. The Green Party who will say that a large chunk of the Forest of Dean will have to be cut down to create the all wooden stadium.
