Then the miners went on strike and we ended up with a infamous 'three day week' with power cuts and general misery to preserve coal.
I never want to see that sort of thing again in a good country like ours....but it looks as if we might be heading that way.
3 day week was under Heath and the Tory party, power cuts etc, 1973. Heath lost election and Wilson/Callaghan back in charge TIL ‘79 and Maggie Thatcher the milk snatcher.

With Corbyn in charge...and Momentum in the wings....yes I do

Well it's like this. Outside the bubble of a small clique within a Championship football club's fans' forum there's a whole wide world of different people with different opinions and views. Amazing, but true..

As CVL confirmed the three day week was under Heath’s tenure, so you changed history a touch there, he did miss out Jim Callaghan being in no.10 after Wilson though. Anyway back to the question, Boris Johnson, the Tory leader & Prime Minister, a shithouse coward or not?

And in true Boris style avoiding answering a question on the character of his leader, going off on a tangent recalling events (part of which he got wrong) of 40 odd years ago.

Next time you leave your leafy suburbs and venture into the city centre, look at all the tents and the numbers sleeping rough and answer my question again.

Your right about that...it was under the Tory government in about '74and was a result of the miners strikes that caused a shortage of coal, which then generated most of our power.
It was the Winter of Discontent I was thinking of that took place in 1978 ( I think) under Callghan's Labour government. It caused the collapse of the government. Everyone seemed to be on strike including the firemen and the army took over their duties.

Both were a disaster for Joe Public and I never want to see the UK going through things like that again

I was in the centre today and like you see the rough sleepers on our streets.
All I said was that our economy was and is one of the strongest in Europe and that's a fact.

Getting it sorted "one way or the other" would be best achieved with a labour vote, as they will have a binding vote of remain Vs deal in 6 months.

Voting Boris in would just put us back exactly where we were before the election with a prime minister that is unable to get his deal through parliament.

As for politics, yes I'm for Brexit as is the majority of those who voted in the referendum, lets just get on with it

Anyone in South Wales that votes Tory needs to be given a history book followed by a good slap.

We in Wales have had 22 years of a Labour Government in the Senedd and I have plenty of time to think about them and how useless they are when I'm stationary on the M4 staring at the bilingual road signs

I am very nervous about the NHS being in Tory hands too and have decided to vote for Labour for only the second time in my life. The last was 2017 and previously I've voted for LibDems.
The NHS in Wales is not in Tory hands, it's run totally by Labour and has been for some time. I don't see it any better than the mess that the NHS is in in the rest of the UK.

I think he is a lovely man.

I iwll be voting for him as he is the only one who can get Brexit over the line . First time I haven't voted Labour in my life..

Corbyn isnt an option , he would take us back to the bad old days of the 70,s , the country would be destroyed .

Neither candidate is particularly impressive , Corbyn did actually answer the questions when I saw them both
on some program the other day . Boris just tried to bluster his way through the program .

But it is ultimately funded by Westminster. Glad you agree the NHS is a mess. Ask yourself which party is responsible.

I'll never understand Welsh people being annoyed by the Welsh language, ITV will be showing a documentary on when Glantaf opened and some of the abuse levelled at schoolchildren for speaking Welsh is shocking

There can't be another country that hates itself and its culture more than Wales

There was a reason The Sun backed him - and it wasn't because they supported a socialist programme.

Don't you know that corbyn is going to take us back to the 70s, the country will be destroyed. Usual rhetorical bullshit dished out by people who don't seem to want to find out what's on offer. Anyone who votes for that fat piece of shit is going to contribute towards people suffering. I hope that they can check their conscience and vote labour, not the liberals as she voted for every archaic poverty based policy that the Tories had on offer during the coalition. She's another piece of shit.
