Run fast up the wing after the ball wingers have had their day

We need a bit of skill to compliment the pace, a know how of if he should run past his man or cut in, get to the byline or cross early, or god forbid SWITCH THE PLAY.

They are even allowed to hold the ball up to look for... wait for it.. MIDFIELD RUNNERS.

Either bring in a more rounded winger or just go with another formation completely.

I agree that, taken over the course of this season, our wingers are too inconsistent to justify us going in with two of them in every match - the responsibility for giving the team that bit of flair lies entirely with them and our number ten (when Tomlin plays) and we've not had enough of that commodity for a few seasons now.

I’m with you both. Both Mendez and Murphy’s first touch last night were shocking

Look at Benrahma last night for Brentford had about 15 touches in the opening minutes and was a constant threat, that’s not just down to managers instructions. Less than 2 million from Nice and plays both wings. Mbuemo was under 6 and looks twice the player Murphy is, plays left wing and can play right wing and through the centre.

Pereira for West Brom, loan. Ripping the league up. They also have Diangana on loan from West Ham who looks dangerous.

We have head down arse up, can’t control a cross field pass, or even some simple passes for that matter, wingers who just run out of ideas and look predictable.

You’d hope a new manager would help a few of them but it doesn’t seem the case, few more games till January when it’s going to be looked at. Have a feeling big earning players of any resale value may find themselves going out, a loan from the PL or abroad wouldn’t hurt as long as we promote the kids to train alongside the first team and possibly give them the odd appearance.

I’d rather go with L/C/R attacking midfielders and bin the wingers. Clever players in these positions can still offer a threat out wide but clever players running at you more centrally is harder to deal with than following a bloke down the wing you know 9/10 what he’s gonna do.
