The hottest you have ever been at the football

Rotherham away , first game back in second flight of English football in God knows how long

3500 bluebirds sweating in the Yorkshire August sun

I think it was 90 degrees

I only had my y fronts on

  2. #2

Re: The hottest you have ever been at the football

    The playoff final at wembley.

Re: The hottest you have ever been at the football

Probably when I wore my cut-off denim shorts to a game.

Re: The hottest you have ever been at the football

Air conditioning not working in Mothercare?

Re: The hottest you have ever been at the football

Pre-season tour 2007 to Portugal, even though the game kicked off at 10am. All the Portuguese fans made for the shade while our lot sat out in the open (except me - I'm a bit of a ginge so would've melted).

Re: The hottest you have ever been at the football

Croatia vs Wales away this year on the open terrace in Osijek. The "concerned " Croat security forces took any water away as we were frisked into the ground. Like watching a game in a fan oven!

I was at that game, very warm. Alan Lee was playing for Rotherham that day, he joined us a week later. I'll never forget that day as there was this weird bloke walking about in a pair of Suicidal Tendencies Y Fronts while flicking through the Bra and Knickers section of a Kays Catalogue.

Agreed. I almost fainted that day. Not due of the heat but because of what they charged for a bottle of water inside Wembley.

Bury away. 1990. last game of the season. We lost 2-0 and were relegated. I can't remember feeling hot in particular, but it was sunny and warm and many were wearing shorts.

That was the one where I witnessed a few City fans laying on the green by the white ball during a bowls match in Cemetery Park on the way to the game shouting ‘You Jack Bastard’ to it, a few bemused bowlers looking on.

Try watching a Phoenix Rising USL game in June, July, or August. Usually around 105-106F, despite kicking off at 7.30 or 8 pm. There's a few Cardiff at the games, plus a Jack and a few gog Scousers.
