    R.I.P. Alan Harrington

Heard news of his recent passing this evening. Very sad. A CCFC great. Thoughts with his family.

Very sad news. I think he played 348 League games for us mainly and wing half and later at full back. RIP.

348 league games for City and a local lad as well, born in Penarth. I'd heard the name but didn't realise how dedicated he had been to the club.

    RIP Bluebird.

He was also a member of the 1958 Wales squad.

Ah, another one passes on. Remember him as RB in the 1959-60 promotion season, alongside Ronnie Stitfall, with Vearnecombe in goal behind hem and Malloy ahead of them. Great team and great right back. RIP.

    Re: R.I.P. Alan Harrington

A fine player. He played in the first City game I ever saw in 1959. The word legend gets given to players far too easily these days and many times quite undeservingly. In my book he is a Cardiff City legend not only because of his consistently good play but also because of his loyalty, a rare commodity these days. Thanks for the memories Alan - RIP.
