What's happened to Tangerines in supermarkets?

For the last few years I've never seen Tangerines on sale in most of the main superstore like Asda and sainsburys. Always used to have Tangerines for Christmas as a kid but all I see now are bastarding clementines. Nowhere near as tasty as your old Tangerines.

Even here in mid-Iowa it's 'clementines'; too many changes in life for no particular reason.

Always made do with the tangerines.
