Thread: Time to sack Andy Dibble

    Time to sack Andy Dibble

He has hours each day to work with Etheridge so why can't he teach him to kick a ball, launch an accurate throw or even shout?

Time to get rid of the coach or the player.

Why Andy Dibble when it’s clear Smithies is clearly the better at distribution?

Dibble has also made Etheridge a bloody good goalkeeper. He can't kick, he's got no technique. It's also a lot better than when he started.

The first job of a goalkeeper is to prevent the ball going in the net. If one in 25 kicks may not be accurate I can more than happily deal with that.

The worst part of Etheridge's game is his long goal-kicking, the worst part of Glatzel's game is controlling/challenging for long balls and the worst part of Flint (as senior CB) game is playing out from the back. It must be a unique situation where our No1, most expensive CB and most expensive striker are so fundametally limited when playing together.

To be fair to Etheridge, two or three kicks aside, there was little wrong with his distribution in difficult conditions and he was on a number of occasions looking to pass the ball out from the back or throw it to quicken our counter-attacks. However, just to add to what I started with, Pack was so notably slow and off his game that our captain was part of the issue as well today.
