Thread: Why does Hey Jude not get played anymore?

  1. #1

Why does Hey Jude not get played anymore?

Why was it the club stopped playing 'Hey Jude' when the players walk out? It's been a number of years now.

'Men of Harlech' would end, and merge seamlessly into 'Hey Jude'. Yep, I miss that, too. No idea why it's disappeared, though.

It stopped when Ali left I believe.

Re: Why does Hey Jude not get played anymore?

    Here's a thought - why don't us fans sing it after M0H?

    Because every team sings it?

The 'drummers' seem to dictate what we sing now. There are quite a few songs that we no longer hear.

'You are my Cardiff'. & 'Little Pick and shovel' are examples

Didn't notice until you said but that's certainly true. Think you might here then occasionally on away days

Little Pick and Shovel was given an airing on Boxing Day I'm certain of it.

It was all a bit flat mainly with the tone set on the pitch though.

Hey Jude isn't played anymore because the club preferred to go with that terrace classic we know and love - Right Here, Right Now by Fatboy Slim.

We rarely throw "bluebirds, bluebirds" in the air when doing well now rather its *drum, drum. Drum, drum, drum. Drum, drum, drum* "City" which means we could be almost anyone.

Drum certainly has helped atmosphere but should never take over.
