that was the mantra coming from the club that we were not going to overspend to try and survive in the Premier League but build a team capable of “doing a Burnley” looking to bounce back up if we went down!

but the moment we were relegated that squad was ripped apart, our loan signings released, Gunnarsson, Manga, Zohore, Reid allowed to go .

If only we had shown the ambition of Sheffield United who haven’t spent a fortune but have a system , stuck to it and are certainly surprising everyone!

If thats the case, how on earth have we won 10 games this season then ? Before this game Nelson was being lauded as one of the best centre halves in the division and Bamba was the dogs bollocks. You take the term ‘fickle fans’ to a whole new level.
