    Decades under your belt

I saw my first Cardiff City game in the 1970’s. In the next week I will be watching them in the 2020’s. My sixth different decade following the Bluebirds. And I bet there are many more of you with more decades on the clock than I have.

I’m with you. My Dad started in the 50’s. Sadly I don’t think he’ll get to a game in the 20’s

Seven for me, but there are a few who are at eight and I wouldn't be surprised if there were some nines.

Earliest memory is 1959 away at the Cabbage Patch (the vetch, for our younger viewers )

If I was going before, I’ve no memory of it

1959 for me too. Home to Liverpool. That’s 8 decades. How did that happen

Never counted the decades before - saying 6 makes me feel old!

Dec 68 for me, so my 7th decade.

I'm (only) 60 but this is my 8th decade of life which seems bizarre

How refreshing to read a post referring to decades without the word new.

As the last year of the 202nd decade commences, I too first saw City v Preston North End in I think 1971
I know we won at home I think 5-2.

My name was announced over the loudspeakers in the Granstand.

A decade is ten years the new decade starts next year. 🙄

But the teens are over. As will be the 20s when it's 2030.

If the end of year the very first year that we consider as AD was 31st December 1 AD then the first decade would have ended on 31st December 10 AD. Carry that on until the present time and the new decade actually starts a year from today.

1st game Oct 70, a 4-1 win over Blackburn - "Toshack is a reject" was the chant of the day, as it was the first game after he left.

You are the exact opposite of all those who said they'd never go again after he was sold.
