And happy new decade to everyone except those boring old farts who moan that the next decade doesn't start until 2021.


And to those boring old farts I say a decade can be ANY period of 10 years, and 2020 cannot, by definition, be part of the 2010s; in 10 years time 2030 cannot be part of the 2020s, and so on.

Similarly, 20 years ago, the year 2000 was not the last year of the 1900s, and therefore it started the third millenium.

Don't perpetuate the error that was made centuries ago just because Roman numerals cannot represent the number (and year0 zero.
And before you say that we count from 1, not zero...
How about floors in a building, or your age?
