He was hopeless!
So hopeless he is the proud owner of a Championship Player Of The Month award!
He was a mixed bag - but showed what he is capable of at Blackburn - 33 goals in less than 18 months (66 appearances).
I really rated Gestede when he played for us, and was sorry to see him go. Whip the ball into the box, and he'd score. He's had a good career so far, though the move to Villa didn't really work out for him.
Probably had a better career than any striker we've signed since Warnock was here.
I'd have him over any of our current lot. Madine could only dream of 33 goals at Championship level.
The guy was unplayable at times .
Rudi Gestede with the 50p head .
Was shocked at how much his value went up , still knocking them in when he is fit .

Some people are too stubborn or stupid to change their mind even when they've been proved wrong.
Gestede had the attributes but never got used properly, as soon as he did he scored more than a goal every other game for a bang average blackburn side.
He was never going to be a premier league player but anyone calling him hopeless couldn't be more wrong.
Part-time armchair supporter, whose real love is whichever team is top of the prem.
He had a good 18 month spell with Blackburn and that’s it.
Eventually became a decent player with us. I recall Malky had him working with Campbell the Olympic sprinter as his style of running was so clumsy.
His defensive attributes were,imo, almost as important as his striking ability. He was very important at the end of a game if a team was putting pressure on us. Would win everything in the air.
Would have him back ahead of Zohore.
