I agree with everything but surely Glazo will be up top. I wouldnt mind Patterson starting, in place of Whyte, playing as a right side midfielder.

He doesn't bring anything to the party when played out wide.

Flint up top; I think you're being a bit mischievous with that, right? : )

    1-2

    Glatzel, Ralls.

    52% possession

I suspect Whyte may start and we'll see Murphy as an impact player, if we do I think he scores.

    Match facts

    • Birmingham have lost their last two league games against Cardiff, conceding seven goals across those defeats.
    • Cardiff have not won three consecutive league games against Birmingham since February 1928 (five in a row).
    • Birmingham have not won three consecutive games in all competitions since a run of four under Garry Monk in October 2018.
    • Cardiff won three of their first four league games under Neil Harris (D1) but have won just one of their subsequent seven games (W1 D4 L2).
    • Since his Championship debut for the club in September 2016, Lukas Jutkiewicz has scored 39 goals for Birmingham - 25 more than any other current Blues player.
    • In the Championship this season, Cardiff City have managed just 46 open play sequences with 10 or more passes - 13 fewer than any other team.

Wonder how many we have had since we changed manager and seem to (overall) go less direct...

    No many I suspect.

I don’t pay much attention to these sorts of stats usually but this one is particularly depressing! 😱

I assume that Ralls still isn’t fully fit if he is on the bench?

It would be good to see Whyte have a good game today. (and the rest of them!)

Re: BIRMINGHAM CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

What has Danny Ward done since his last average performance as a starting striker other than it being longer ago than Glatzel's last average performance as a starting striker? At some point I'll want to say that I recognise Harris' plan for how he wants his Cardiff side to play but presently we seem to be picking a front three based on dropping those who performed poorly (and Glatzel didn't) the previous week rather than anything else. Next week we'll be back to Glatzel with Ward on the bench.
