West Ham, who were tracking Etheridge, have now signed Middlesbrough's Darren Randolph, reducing the likelihood of the Hammers going for the Bluebirds stopper in this window.

You don't say. Cheers WOL where would we be without you.

I didn't have to register to read the article - maybe because I have registered before for the whole family of local news websites that this is part of - and most are much worse than this one (including the Sheffield Star site which is dreadful). In fact some of the stories the Blackpool Gazette are promoting look like journalistic gems!

'Axe rampage man terrified neighbour who tried to hide in bathroom'

'Coastguard teams pull car from sea at Starr Gate after couple are caught short by incoming tide'

'Blackpool lap dancing bar allowed to re-open after 'punter burned by dancer wielding aerosol can and lighter''

'The truth about the Blackpool 'armed incident' - No guns or suspects found and no suggestion any shots were fired'

How can you not be drawn in by that lot!

And yes, good luck to Gary Madine with his new club.

5 Premier League appearances for Cardiff last season, all as substitute. City lost all five matches.

I’m still dining out on my one Welsh League appearance for the City (0-1 against Barry Town) almost 40 years ago
