Thread: Facebook.

    Facebook.

Facebook keep sending e-mails, so, presumably, my registration, which I started about ten years ago, paid a couple of brief visits to and have ignored ever since, is still valid. Therefore, I'm far from being an expert on the subject, but I found this is a concerning read;-

I'm not looking to get political here, but I'd be interested to get an idea as to how many on here are regular Facebook users.

I am a regular user (and have been for over 10 years). I see very few ads and have never had an Fb e-mail.
Invaluable IMHO for staying in touch with friends overseas.
Also I see few ads as I provide feedback (usually negative) when I actually get any!

I've been on it for about 13 years but haven't really done anything apart from exist on it and look at it sometimes for the last 5. If I google something, there will definitely be an advert for it on Facebook within the hour. Can't say I receive emails but I think the email I signed up with is dead now

I got off Facebook the day after the election and also cancelled Sky TV.
I have had sky for 23 years and Facebook for about 12.
Feel rather cleansed to be honest.
Just sick of giving money to Billionaires and funding their right wing bollox.
    Vive la revaluation

    Re: Facebook.

I use it most days and I can honestly say I don't get any political messages .

I get a lot of footy and music links though .

    Re: Facebook.

I use it daily, staying in tough with people around the world, i am on various FB groups for specialist subjects, i even have a few FB groups for various stuff, i use it to stay in contact with parents for my football coaching and to get info for all my daughters netball and swimming stuff, its a great medium for that

I can honestly say Ive never seen a political ad, i might have had them, but not noticed though, mainly adverts are for netball & football kit, survival kit and disney adverts ( which i love , so i cannot moan about them )

    I genuinely salute you.

Never been on facebook and never will. Seen what a weird obsession it has become to friends and family and am so glad I have never bothered.

Enjoy living in a tent, walking everywhere and growing your own food then. Assume you're not posting on a mobile phone or laptop you bought, on a monthly broadband contract.

Dropped it about 10 years ago as I realised I was spending far too long arguing with idiots about stuff I don't care about (I am aware of the hypocrisy of continuing to post on here) I've never returned to facebook and never will, although o do use WhatsApp

I've never seen the attraction. I don't mind talking about football with a bunch of grumpy buggers on here, but after that,nah.. I don't care about other peoples kids, where they went on holiday or if it's five years since their ****ing budgie died-I'm the healthy one!

    It is.

On another note, like I said, I don't use post anything on Facebook anymore and to be honest I find it boring. But what it is quite nice to have for is my friends list is almost a little timeline of my life. It goes from schoolfriends to uni to backpacking to various jobs etc, different people are a reminder of different times. It's the only reason I'm still on it tbh

If you can filter out the idiots (unfollow is the option here as they will still see you and think you like their shit posts) and not get involved in commenting too much then it's not so bad, as you may have guessed I couldn't help myself and got involved in tons of wind ups and arguments..so better off off it.

Fair enough mate, i'm quite a private person, so it wouldn't suit me, and i wouldn't dare be narcissistic enough to put photos of myself on the internet while my face probably obscures something much more interesting. I understand that people use it for all kinds of reasons.

Do you ever read back your post and think i wrote that without an ounce of irony as well?

    [QUOTE=dembethewarrior;5040449]Sunday dinner?[/QUOTE
Oh yes, very often there’d be photos posted of various meals that people were about to tuck into, Sunday dinner especially.
