Interesting opinion piece here on the impact of tariffs, trade wars and deals on business sectors in this instance the US Lobster trade. It is being squeezed from two directions,

the Canadians have a free trade deal that covers lobster with the EU but the US doesn't meaning that an 8% tariff is applied under WTO terms.

the main export market for US lobster is being squeezed by the tit-for-tat trade war that Trump has triggered with China. The combined impact is forcing US producers to move their businesses from the US to Canada.

This could well be a set of circumstances that our exporters face with the EU if we are unable to negotiate a trade deal that neutralises the tariffs that will apply if we head towards a WTO...sorry Australian type trade deal with the EU.
