Anyone On Here Knowledgeable On Using An Iphone Abroad?

I'm off to Oz for 3 weeks soon and want the following:

To stay in contact with home through face time
Have the ability to use the phone for outgoing and incoming local calls
    Use bluetooth for music

Really I want to turn off the mobile data as that will zap my credit, and any calls will only be 'needs must' calls.

Would I be better just putting additional credit on my phone or getting a travel sim like the £25 sim from 'three'

    Any advice/experience appreciated.

    Thanks

Yeh, thanks. That may be the best way to go, I've just spoken to three and their sim does not include calls within the country that you have travelled to, which sort of defeats the object.
