Thread: FA Cup draw, ball #9

    FA Cup draw, ball #9

8 guaranteed PL sides, with another 2 in replays
2 guaranteed Championship sides, with another 2 in replays
Portsmouth guaranteed, with 4 other FL1/FL2 sides in replays

IF we sneak passed Reading a 2 in 3 chance of drawing a PL side

My scientific pin sticking draw has us at home to Norwich!

I fancy another go at Pompey.

Tonight's draw will impact the attendance for the replay a week tomorrow and what players are selected. The prospect of a home tie versus Liverpool or Man United might pull a 16-20k crowd, or as low as 5-6k with a oh-hum fixture as the prize for winning.

A home tie with liverpool or united would be a sell out with lots of boots up arses and falling over seats as fans of south wales favourite two football teams were found in the home end

It's only a ten minute bus journey for most of them

Whoever we possibly draw in 5th round the 4th round replay will struggle to attract above 5 thousand.

Does anyone else love the FA Cup draw?

I make an occasion of it, much akin to builders when Pop Master is on.

    No doubt.
Hopefully the 5.50pm Sat or Sunday similar time when everyone will be in fine "singing" voice mode.

Great point about McBurnie. The prospect of giving him a hard time would add quite a few to the gate. I often chuckle recalling John Hartson's appearance for West Brom at Ninian Park. Boy, did he receive some earache! Cast as the dastardliest pantomime villain he was booed, hissed and worse throughout.

I find night games strange atmospheres. It's like everyone is just knackered after a hard day's graft and there's less singing.

I reckon everyone should ask the boss for an early finish to allow for a couple of swifties more than the usual.

**(Provided we beat Reading of course!)

I'm old enough to remember Stan Bowles getting that chant. He turned near the penalty spot close to the Grange End to shrug his shoulders as if to say "I don't know where she is" and the crowd instantly warmed to him.

We ruined the whole of the Leeds side which is now folklore.

Stanley Stanley where's your wife, Stanley where's your wife

Loved Stan Bowles, proper character. Good player too. Robin Friday-esque I'd say.
