Thread: Etheridge

    Etheridge

Really impressed with how hes been handling himself recently. Real Professional,
linked to West Ham which looked like he was going, then being dropped.
he was the first person I saw congratulating Smithies at FT yday, he also posted on IG and twitter saying how good the save was!

    It's professional conduct.

    Re: Etheridge

He always comes across as a good pro and a nice lad. Think almost dropping out of the game must make you more down to earth too.

Yes but how many footballers are that professional? Must be tough for him as well, as he's gone from being a Premier League starter to a Champ bench warmer. There's only one spot but it is really refreshing to see him handling it well.

He also went the other way from sofa to PL.

They're team mates, they get on. He's going to support him. No shock here.

It's nice, but it's also normal between team mates.

Exactly, plenty would and have sulked in his position.

Is Etheridge still officially a back-up 'keeper? I believe that what he was signed for.

Even if it is normal, it's still nice to see. You don't have to whine to be able to post on here. It's also common for keepers to be rivals because there's only one shirt.

He's a miserable so and so isn't he

    Re: Etheridge

Our track record of signing decent keepers has been excellent over the last decade & some. Far better than our dismay records on signing strikers.

West Brom fans in melt down on how poor Sam Johnstone is yet he was exceptional for Villa a couple of seasons back

He didn't have to make such a noticable reaction, I think sums up the lad, and is more than expected professional conduct .

Well Neil were lucky to have both keepers .

I noticed Day has gone out on loan does it suggest Neil isn't going anywhere in this window?

    Re: Etheridge

Etheridge is a class act on and off the field.
He is one of those (few?) players who realises how privileged he is to be playing football at such a high level and all the rewards, fame and fortune, that come with it.
His career is anything but over.

I should hope so, otherwise we'll have Bamba in goal if Smithies went down with the two-bob bits!

He wouldn’t dare say it to your face down your local

Not really what I was getting at.

I reckon I know you, or someone you know at least. Few clues over time on here.

I wouldn't talk to him if we were in the same pub, which is a shame for him because I'm great company

    You would.

Too many people on here think they "know" someone by their posting history, which is another reason I asked that question of you. One of my mates used to be really sharp with his replies on Facebook and would get a few laughs as he embarrassed people online but he was almost mute in the pub or would trip over his words and the moment would just go..
